Guys....There are no prizes

Maybe I shouldn't have called it a Show and Shine but called it a display. It's only a get together of old bikes to hopefully enlist more participants in what we do.

( I still hope Husky Pete comes regardless of prizes )  ;D

Dono 113, Bring your Dirt Tracker. I may even have some bits I will give you.

Sorry Ted, that was just a bit of an in-joke. Steve's C15 actaully won the rat bike award at the last show and shine. We all understand that it's just a showcase for our sport. Besides, there's not enough Goddard's Glow in the world for Steve's bike ;D

A fellow VMXer just rang me from Taree NSW and asked if he could bring 3 bikes to display. Naturally I said yes. He thought that it may be invitation only. Definitely not, all are welcome.

Seeing as this has gained heaps of support I will start another heading 2 weeks out from show ( in 4 weeks time ) and ask those that are showing bikes to post up how many bikes. This way I can give Chris fairly accurate numbers. Capping it at 100 would really put it out there. I honestly believe we could double that figure quite easily but seeing as this has not been done before at this premises we should play it safe and stay to that figure and see how it goes. We currently stand at approx 80 bikes.

Cheers

So as to not detract from the Klub Kevlar Show and Shine I have changed the name to NSW Vintage Dirt Bike Display.

Klub Kevlar deserve the right to use the Show and Shine tag as it was their idea in the first place.

Firko, Call your lawyers off....Just joking ;D

None of us are after trophy's, just an excuse to get out of the house and talk shite.
Should be a good day.

It won't be alone, Jonesy, Pete and I will have our trackers there. Nice little bike by the way Dono. Ted loves the swingarm.

Hey Ted are you printing any advertising flyers? It would be good for putting up in our local bike shops/workplaces etc to attract a few more punters to come along and have a look.
Even better if you could post a link where we could download a flyer and print it off at home for distribution.

Pete,
Firko has offered to get some general flyers together offering new applicants choices. ie : MX, Dirt Track, Vinduro

Bevo and myself will get Heaven flyers, Shaun will have Norths info and Roy ( who unfortunately can't be there on the day ) will get Penrith's Dirt Track stuff together and hopefully Shoey will bring Manly Club Vinduro forms to distribute on the day

All we need now is your XR 250 and your MX 250 A to show

As we are displaying a Juniors section , to let prospective parents know what bikes are available to the young ones, does any body have either a CR, KX, RM, YZ  80 / 85 or perhaps a CRF 150 , TTR 125 to put alongside a XR 100 and a KTM 85. Sutto will also put brand new models of his 2013 KTM 65, 85, and 125 out with the juniors bikes.

Hi Steve
You are most welcome. As we are trying to garner support for Vintage off road you should bring the XT along with the YZ. I think it's best to keep it to Pre 90 so as to not give the impression that all old bikes can be ridden. Bring the period stuff as well.

I will post up and call for numbers in 3 weeks time so jump on the list and I will present numbers to Suttos.

Just an update on where I'm at with this.

After meeting Chris this past week he tells me he will advertise the display along with his sale on this day. He reckons lots of people will attend.

After local council talks I will not be going ahead with the BBQ. Health regs, parking, amenities, proximity to other food outlets and certificates, it's all too much. There is a pub next door if you wanna eat or bring your own lunch.

Ok, I'm calling for a show of hands as to who is coming. If I've left you off the list please list your name and how many bikes. I would like to get this wrapped up this coming week.

Cheers Ted

Good job Ted, at the end of the day its up to us to get our sport out there because if we don't then nobody will. Have you talked to the VMX Mag boys about a display of the best MX mag in the world?....could be beneficial to both of you guys. Also, send out an invitation to all the Sydney bike clubs, vintage, modern, road, dirt and let them know, I'm sure it might inspire someone, hope its a great success.....gee it's a shame you guys have such a hard time with beaurocracy as regarding the food.....what about if you use the local Scouts or something?...NSW is definitely over regulated. ....good luck again.
