This ebay sale reckons he pulled a set the same of a 66 Ducati scrambler.

wondering if they were around in 1964 as well? any one know please.
If I turn up at CRC pre-65 with these will anyone have a hissy fit?

If you turn up to the CRC with those on the mighty Maico you'll be very welcome (unless you holeshot the first race :P) we need to German presence 8).
As to their legallity at a National then we'll leave that to someone else

They appear to be early Ceriani clamps so if I was the scrutineer at the Nats I'd allow them. Email the photo to Dave Tanner via PM....I guarantee he'll pass 'em

I have a Norton road-holder front end but the alloy sliders are damaged and flogged out. A bloke in Bendigo sells new ones, but only has one side in stock at the moment.

Anyhow up and atem, fingers out and crossed.

 This Maico Metisse looks to be based on a Petite Metisse frame and is pretty much what I'm building only mine will be a 350.

The tubes are 36'er, that means exact 35,80 mm diamter. In the top clamp they have a konus!

Here are 3 of the 4 typs I know. The first one (1964-65) was also available with iron lower end (tree ??)
And the last one is for the first square barrel Modell with X4 Frame (1968)

If that's the bike Mick it'd be a pretty trick engine, maybe even a bigun'.....326cc.

Biggun with iron barrel is limited to 277ccm = 71mm bore x 70mm hub
If you bore the 71 mm cylinder (it's diffrent to the 250ccm) to 77mm no iron is left for the liner or sleeve or ... how do you call it ?

Here they are. The first on I shot with my phone some years ago, thats why the quality is not very good ...
Nevertheless I hope this wil help!





To get some more pics, is impossible in the Moment, because the bike hangs on a wall in a private museum  ???

The diameter is 42mm. What are your plans, are you searching for one ??

Thanks Marcus....the Metisse photos are very handy. That WeBeHa frame is a cool find. You can clearly see that the later X3 wide frame was almost a copy of the home built frame. Are the dimensions the same? I wonder if I could modify a 1969 frame to be a "replica" of the WeBeHa? Marcus...I used to be in touch with a German guy named Ulrich that once worked at the factory but I lost contact with him. He possesses much of the export and production paperwork that he retrieved from the trash. Do you know him by chance? Thanks for the PM re: the gold tank by the way. No Firko, as far as using an X4 frame as a donor for an 1964 X3 frame fabrication goes;

I think the only components that could be salvaged from the X4, would be the steering head, the under-seat top mount of the rear sub-frame and maybe parts of the foot-peg mounts.

I have another 1964 X3 frame on the way if you would like to use it as template for a jig.
