The annual KTM King of Nepean Dirt Track meeting on August 24/25 will bring together the country’s biggest motorcycle racing names including 3 times World Super bike Champion Troy Bayliss, Grand Prix race winner Gary McCoy, MotoGP star Chris Vermeulen and three-times Australian Superbike winner Shawn Giles.
Bayliss, McCoy, Giles and Vermeulen will join Australia’s best Dirt Track names to battle for the record prizemoney and what has become a very prestigious title. They will be challenged by the last three King of Nepean champions, 2010 winner Paul Caslick, 2011’s Marty McNamara and last year’s 2012 winner Luke Richards.
The dark horse of the King of Nepean event is Aussie Luke Gough [from Hill Top in NSW] who has recently returned from three years of AMA Pro Flat Track racing in the U.S.A. Luke is a five-time Australian Dirt Track champion and is guaranteed to be competitive after racing the tough AMA Series.
KTM King of Nepean organisers have also added two more events to the program that will feature famous name riders. They have scheduled separate races for All Stars Past Champions and a series of Speedway events which will be run on the 300 metre track in the centre of the venue.
The Speedway events have already attracted entries from the best of Australia’s International Solo riders including 2011 Premier League Winner Sam Masters and 2013 Australian Under 21 Champion Taylor Poole.
Joining them at the speedway tapes will be youngsters Hunter Anderson, who has just been accepted into Australia’s Long Track Team to the 2013 World Long Track Championships in Germany and Jack Holder, younger brother to our current World Champion Chris Holder.
