Its previous best was 11.06 @ 126mph. Its just had a birthday with new camshaft, converter, new carbs and a custom alloy tunnel-ram. Havent had time to run it again. I will part with it soon, so I can buy 4 more VMX'ers!! Bikes rule!

I had a VG Hemi Pacer Coupe back in the 80's....sold it for shit, one of my numerous stupid decisions. One thing that used to shit me no end was the mini craze of turning Valiant coupes and XM and XP Falcon coupes into convertibles back in the 80's/90's. How many of them were wrecked beyond repair doing those ridiculous conversions?

LOL Simo, I like em all really, who doesn't! From Honda SL125's right thru to RM500's and ATK's!! The bikes are just so much easier! The only bad thing about bikes when your working on them, is that everything is DAMN SHARP! I end up with the hands of a rapist just from pulling the spark plug out!

And I agree Firko, many classic cars have been ruined over time, some people have lots to answer for! Nice Jag, TWR did well with those in World Touring Cars and LeMans. Are they actually Jaguar wheels? They look like Superlites, except maybe they have a deeper dish, or thats just the offset? Nice car anyway. VERY under-rated.

The Jag's a great thing, I cop a lot of oil leak/reliability jokes but once they actually drive the car and see just how quick it is and above all, how smooth the engine runs and how well it holds the road, the jokes stop. The wheels are 15x8.5 medium offset genuine Minilites. The car is getting a Tremec 5 speed manual and XJ 6 3.55 diff sometime this year which will make much better use of the revvy engine than the shift kitted turbo400 and 2:95 diff that's in it now.

What engine are you running in your Valiant Sicko? I've got a basket case 426 Wedge motor in semi dismantled state under the bench that I was going to fit to a VF ute but never got around to. PM me if you or anyone else wants it.

I was going to ask Tony what model Merc in the top photo was but then I noticed the # plates.....a '74 SLC coupe Tony? I must get a photo of my god daughters boyfriends '64 280 SEC with twin turbo Nissan engine, 6 speed and AMG 19" wheels and Brembo brakes. It's too cool for school.....Below, this ain't it but you get the drift ;D

Firk its just running a std stroke 440 Wedge with factory cast-iron heads.
Say, instead of a Tremec, why don't you try a stall-converter in front of the T400? With the massive torque that puppy puts out, it would just be the best combination: outrageous acceleration when you plant your foot hard, yet still retain the smoothness and elegance when dawdling around the suburbs. Mmm, high-stall (say 2800rpm) would only be around $1K - $1200 for that. Much cheaper than a Tremec! I have driven a Jag with a manual, it was very truck-like, ruined the driving dynamics of the car................................................................

I,m guessing you drove a Jag fitted with the original Moss 4 speed box, truck like is a good way to describe them. Jaguar dropped them from the V12 line after a year and stuck with the auto except for enough 4 speeders TWR built for homologation. I think they used top loaders but I may be wrong. I already have the 5 sp Tremec out of a '94 Mustang and a manual flywheel, all I need is a clutch and hydraulic master cylinder/pedal from a Rover and the usual short tailshaft and gizmo's. I disagree about the manual upsetting the cars dynamics, I reckon the V12 works better with a manual. My turbo400 has a B&M shift kit and a 3000rpm stall converter (a standard T350 item) and I find the car much nicer and more responsive to drive when I use the auto as a manual. The lower diff ratio will help there as well.

Yep, '74 450SLC. Got it off the original owner and just before it's 39th birthday, it's got just 141k on the clock.  ;D
At the other end of the spectrum, I paid the princley sum of $100.00 for the wagon.  8)

I'm a bit anal about my cars being close to original, but I'd still be keen on seeing the one with a Nissan engine....

pm me some details on the 426, it'll bolt up to the Scouts 727 torqueflight..
