Identify this rod
« on: February 13, 2013, 03:33:41 pm »
I have a Suzuki con rod and BE pin

Pin Suzuki part # is 1211-16500  dont know if it is for the rod though ?

The rod is nos but has no part number . All that is cast on the rod is the Suzuki S and S7

The dimensions of the rod are

Centre to centre                    136 mm

BE diameter                            32 mm

SE diameter                            25mm

BE width                                 22 mm

SE width                                 26 mm

Can anyone identify this rod  ???

PE 400 maybe

Thanks Bill

Hi a pe400 conrod has the marking numbers 409 cast about half way upthe rod and a number 3 near the little end with 3 little dimple dots cast next to the 3. Check the part number again as suzuki has 5 numbers in each part of the part number it could be part number 12161-16500 which is a tm-ts 400 conrod I havn't one to check the dimensions but they sound about right as the tm 400 rods are very similar to the rm500 rod Rick Horvat has used them in rm500 cranks with extra shimming in the big end and bores the little end out to 20mm I think it is to accept the tm400 little end pin as the centre to centre length is the same and the big end pin is the same diameter, hope this helps, cheers
