In the UK a good serviceable set of Piggy back Ohlins is £350 every day of the week. Shagged ones less. Ohlins parts are very expensive, so to use genuine parts really can send the rebuild bill spiralling out of control. You can of course buy parts that will fit that are not OEM, but will work. Definately something to trust to a specialist.
If you can turn them out for $250 put me down for 10 pairs straight away!
New ones are available. Typically most people start with a base Ohlin piggy back and then modify it to spec. The mods typically cost about £300 to get where you want (bodies, shafts, rods, springs, labour etc ~ it all adds up quickly) It can make for an expensive set of shocks that's for sure.
Or you could have a set that are built at the factory to the original specs with the Honda part numbers. They wont make 1 or 2 pairs, they like batch quanitities, BIG batch quantities!
I know where there are some left ~ contact me if reqd. I also have a bag of genuine Ohlin bump stops as well if anyone needs any.
Dont forget all of the other contenders, there are plenty of quality shocks to consider.
