Hi Andrew, I have a 250H and a DG silencer. Are you talking about the ali lug on the under side of the pipe of the silencer? And are you trying to bolt your silencer on in 2 places? The DG silencer just bolts on to the frame via the top of the silencer. Make up rubber bungs that go into the hole in the bracket on the silencer, put a little steel sleeve through so the bolt can go through and use cap washers. The little bracket on the bottom of the silencer may have to be cut down a bit and it is for put a spring on to connect the main pipe and silencer together.

thanks djracing..yes i was tryin to bolt it up in two places...my main concern was the bottom ali lug on the under side of the silencer....so i just give it a miss altogether and just tighten up the top bolt and bobs your uncle... 8)

Glad ta hear it Andrew. Make sure that the side covers dont touch the pipe. A nufty little idea is to wrap the pipe with exhaust wrap and go to your local motobike shop and ask the mechanics if they have any of the silver material heat shield stuff that is on alot of 4x4 bikes. It always seems to fall off the 4x4's and if they have any grab it(wash it) and glue it to the inside of the sidecover for extra protection. Use ados F2 glue. Exhaust sidecovers are getting rear and expensive so the more ya can look after them the better. Well just a thought anyway. Good luck

All mounting lugs are used (see picture) you just have to have the right mounting brackets and socket bolts for the sidecover mounts

Fanastic Andrew, she looks great but you shouldnt have posted the pic because now you have made me feel guilty about not working on my YZ250H ;) When do you think you are going to start her up and take her to heaven and back? ;D
Very nice job though Andrew.

Nice job Andrew, they are a good looking model, no wonder they are sought after ! i had the next model YZ250J and loved it at the time, those things sold like pizza and beer, every one had one in Victorian MX circles that year!

thanks bonehead...its a yz250H 81 model but its got the g model tank seat and front guard.dont ask me why it might be darryl shotgun willoughbys ex racer ???. but thats how it was when i first bought it for $500 and mind you it was a total mess.the forks are 43mm but i think they are stock standard items for that model.the rear shock is a 465H item though.  its my first ever resto and vmx bike but im still not 100% happy with the outcome of what it looks like....  ;D
