I wish I had a shed full of these old BMX bikes. In 1996 I went to a guys place in Santa Cruz, Ca to check out a Starmaker Metisse he had for sale and he had a yard literally chocka block full of old trick framed BMX bikes. He told me he got the majority from the deceased estate of a collector but had added to the pile from having an inside guy at the local dump/recycle centre. 75% of them were nickel plated proper race stuff including a bunch of early suspension bikes similar to this. This guy was exporting BMX and British motorcycles to the UK and Sweden by the container load even then (
he was an expat Pom). I bought a Redline with Moto Mags for my nephew but ended up selling it to another Yank mate for double the money.
1970s vintage motocross monoshock bicycle with Motomag wheels. This frame was purchased in the mid 70s in Southern California and was made by "Littlejohn Murphy". (Do a google search on them - they were premier pioneer BMX frame builders back in the day.) The underside of the bottom bracket is stamped "LM 14_." (serial number below #150) The bike was built at that time with Motomag cast aluminum wheels and Dan Gurney MX tires, telescopic front forks, and other components from that era. The wheels have cast into them "Motomag BMX Prod. Simi, Calif" I am selling this for the original owner who has had it hanging up in his garage for the last 35 years. This is a very trick and original bicycle and would make for a great restoration. Any questions or comments are appreciated.
