ADB 400th Edition - Great Read
« on: December 26, 2012, 10:32:01 am »
I was lucky enough to have my family buy me the 400th Collectors edition of ADB as a Xmas present. A great read for us old dirt bikers as it traces back through the history of the magazine from its beginnings in the mid 70s with a reminiscent story from Stephen Gall explaining how he featured as an up and coming rider on the cover of the first edition, and has some well put together features like the Good the Bad and the Ugly dirt bikes through the years for MX and Vinduro, explanations of the beginnings and a brief snapshot of the history of MX, Enduro and Speedway in Aus. The Top 10 Riders through the years ( As they say, "Let the arguments begin") A great article titled Whatever happened to? featuring bikes like the Hodaka, Rokon, Puch, Laverda (yes Laverda Dirt Bike) etc. Classic Dirt Bike shots through the years and Classic Dirt Bike ads through the years plus a whole lot of other stuff relevant to VMX and dirt bikes in general through the 70s, 80, 90s and 00s. Definitely worth a trip to the magazine stand if you have some extra time to enjoy a good read over the Xmas break. I'd be quick though, I don't think this one will last that long. God, I sound like I work for them!
