Hodaka Combat Wombat
« on: November 06, 2012, 09:48:59 pm »
How much would a Hodaka Combat Wombat be worth? It was running but the points are stuffed. Its in pretty good condition.

Thanks
Duane

Looks in pretty good cond to me, I put photo's up a while ago of a similar model Hodaka for a prick relation trying to find out what it may be worth, he expected $1,000 and the best offer we got was $100, I haven't heard back from him since, his was a rust bucket and in bit's.
May give you a starting point.

They are asking $1000 for this one. Apparently the last time they rode it they had to readjust the points after each ride 20 years ago. Been sitting in the shed since.

Seems like a more realistic price than it would be for this shitbox.

Regardless of what anyone may say I can absoloutely guarantee I'd be able to get at least $1500 for that bike, put to eBay the market will prove you that. So providing you WANTED one if you're paying anything south of that figure you're doing ok. But if you weren't after one I suppose even a grand is still worth a second thought of if it's worth it to you.

Cheers, Brendan

I raced a Hodaka Combat Wombat back in the day and I could have sworn it had Femsatronic CDI......(or perhaps I'm having another of my senior moments and I'm getting it mixed up with another bike from my past) ;D

I checked it and its pretty orginal condition apart from a cracked top Triple Clamp, a tear in the seat and a few missing spokes it is reasonable.
The owner needs the cash and wants to sell it to someone who will look after. Sounded like he was sell one the kids or dog.

The Combat wombat had points the Super Combat had a CDI. Back in the day we put Cr125m2 CDI on the Combat Wombat. Darcy

Fit the Super Combat engine and wheels into the Combat Wombat, we did some years ago. Made it go much much better but did sort of show up ,to the shit scary max, the standard OEM  poxy handling ,suspension and brakes  :D :D :o
The Honda cr125m2 CDI set was a straight fit up , we even lent a spare set of Super Combat bits to a fella with a crook M2 once ,it ran perfect!
I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

I fitted Maico forks an Elsinore swingarm, a snail pipe made for an Elsinore 125, Gem reed block and a cool plastic tank (Pacifico?) and Preston Petty guards to mine. It didn't improve the bike one smidge but it sure looked the goods. Ray Ryan took a bunch of photos of it back then but they've disappeared into the Ozone.
