Yep even the PVL book says open class bikes need the cloth winding 5000 ( or they will be too hard to start). All my 250 and 125 bikes run NR1058 or NR1061 4000 winding PVL's and even as late as last night i have swapped in an out coil, stator and box with the same result on the RT1 just incase it was a dry joint or somethign odd in the unit.
Result i found was you cant seem to get enough momentum in the flywheel kick to keep enough spark up to the RT1, for a easy kickstart. even with fine point egv plugs ( its almost like you get a spark every second rotation) and you cant get the flick through for an fast enough enertia rotation after the kick, it slows under load and not release a spark after the first 1-2 rotations
My YZ360 has the 5000 winding and its a first kick and runs like a cut snake. So they seem to be correct in there assumptions dammit
if i cant get a 5000 down the track ill just put the normal 360mx CDI unit complete on they worked just fine on the 360MXA as a first kick. looked at doing it last night but bit too close to do this near to Friday nats...... ill just do some push startin
