Hi kt,
I am in the process of restoring one right now, my first Kawasaki and my last! I started with one maybe slightly worse than the one on EBay but paid double :'( :'( :'(. It is reasonably original, hasn't done much work, but has been majorly neglected
. From what I have learned, rod kits no problem, piston/rings etc ok, tranny not sure, mine is OK thankfully, swingarm bearings NLA, I have All Balls kit, spherical bearings no problem but $$. Lots of the little brackets/rubbers/boots etc are not so easy to find. Mine is going to be a financial disaster
, but I love the look of the '85 and there aren't too many out there by the looks of it. My advise is start with one that is as complete as possible because whatever is missing will probably be NLA
. I am a learner with the Lime Green, so will be waiting to se what the more experienced Green Brotherhood have to say too
.
