Fnally a post about Bully''s, however a point of order please Gentlemen.

The correct term is EL BANDIDO (bandit) and EL MONTADERO (mounted stone). From my research the  Bandido was released in 1967, and because I need to know that, so when I am about to get hammered in the face by those harley riding, hard drinking and generally hard living BANDIDOS,cause I have a cap which reads El Bandido. They started up in 1968.

Apparently in Mexico a real bandido type bloke will call his junior learner opposition outlaw types banditos which is  a  derogatory term.
So there, but it wll still hurt and I will lose my cap and teeth.

PS. Anyone selling a Bandido so I can have a cousin for my Montadero.
Bultaco Metralla, Matador MK 5, Montadero mk2, El Bandido model 18,plus lots of bits and two Honda XR's 250,350.

Apologies Moto,I realized later you were having a shot at him. It was late. Always wanted a Bandido, so far got a laminated poster. Have been restoring my mk2 Montadero and soon will reinstall the motor and start rewiring.Re done all f/glass with 2 pack paint and polished up all the alloy bits. Never seen a mk 1 around though.Cheers.

Matador, This is a pic of my M70 Montadero and in action at a dry! Buladelah meeting (pictures posted courteously by my son).I am the second owner of this bike.
I have all the original lights ,speedo etc.
It can be quickly converted so I can wobble around on dirt track, and I use it for Vinduros. The most fun bike for $800 that I bought fifteen years ago.

Must be the Bultaco tree, Think Joel has a pic of the Hybrid/Bandido in the same spot.

To answer your original question Snow,
(before you were so rudely sidetracked by those hoarders of all the best Bultaco's!)

The Best Bully Prize was possibly won by Simon Broad from Qld who ran second place all weekend on his Mk7 360 to Brad VanB in the pre75 open...a damn fast rider.

Some other good performers were Andy Dykes from ACT who ran second in over 60's 250,
and, Ray Smith (Vic) who had some mighty holeshots on his Mk7 250 in pre75, but had bike issues and didnt get the results he deserved.
