i know the guys intentions were good 50 years ago, but to Hoard this amount of stuff in the end is a great enjustance.  ITs should have come out 20 years ago after it was saved as it would have been back in circulation as collectable then.    It would even be differant if it was laid out in a musuem style so people could actually see it, but in the end it was all piled up and piled in and much of it wired together.

other than his mate coming in and making a few bikes run ready for sale as the hired " consultant' on a sales commision there is no excitement here.   Its just sad that the intentions to save this stuff initially , has ended with it just being horded and unaccessable for the last 20 years.

I see this as sad.

Only two types collect-those that do 'em up and use 'em and those the keep 'em so's no-one else can hav'em.
I know of a shed very close to my home (no not my own shed!!)that is one of the latter types-what a fuggin' waste!!!

I agree, where is the blokes family!
 I'd just love to be able to see the entire collection set up neatly, it wouldn't need to be restored, though a lot of it would be irresistable to one with the wherewithall!

stew thats why i said it was great he saved them all those years ago and saved alot of items.  ( although nearly 90% were good examples bought and not going into scrap bins)  Having said that i applauded saving them 50 years ago, but still say he should have released them 20 years ago as they were collectable then, and well and truley saved by then. So they would have been restored etc and collectable at least.  just think its a bit too many of the same things ( t fords) so im still going with the hoarding tags.

His family probably couldn't give a rats about it (except when it comes to putting their hands out). He probably enjoyed years of looking through his stuff. You know. When you just look around at your bikes or go through your boxes of parts and hard to find stuff. That's gotta be what collecting is about.

Twenty years ago or twenty years into the future...old Fords and American V-twin motorcycles will always be collectable. I'm glad that he saved them from being turned into railway lines and baked bean cans fifty years ago and sure, there may have been too many Model T Fords or Harleys or whatever by your tastes Freakster but that's what the old fella liked so more power to him. I'd be pretty sure he collected them to save them and because he liked 'em, not for monetary gain.

Many forum members know Anthony Suttor from Euchareena NSW who was a keen first generation vintage racer and parts supplier until a huge dummy spit saw him walk away from the sport a few years ago. During his time in the VMX fold Anthony amassed a collection of Bultacos of all models and sizes that would number well over a hundred. You name a Bultaco model and Anthony would probably have at least one and probably a few. Anyone who's been in his shearing shed and barn will surely have been gob smacked by the sheer number of Bullies lined up gathering dust. Unfortunately Anthony's not keen on selling any (I tried to get a Bandito and M11 'Metisse' on seperate occasions and failed) and seeing that he's not involved in the sport any more, these bikes seem destined to rot away.
