490 Engine Cases
« on: May 16, 2012, 01:59:15 pm »
I am just trying to confirm whether the 4 speed and 5 speed engine cases of the 83 and 84 Maico 490 are the same? I cannot locate part numbers for the 84.  Any help would be most welcome. thanks steve

I thought the Spider and Sandspider had the same cases?  Got me buggered - anyway I have scored a set of 84 cases and will just hope they work out. If not they will be going back on the market.

I found this video where a guy is putting an 85/86 5 speed tranny into a 4 speed FL362000 cases.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHsum5erAyA&feature=relmfu

So if that is the case, the 4 speed tranny should fit directly into the 364000 cases. fingers crossed
