Sideplate contact
« on: March 25, 2008, 04:59:26 pm »
Could someone tell me the best stuff to use on number plates please, I tried using signwriters contact but the stuff was too thin and just rippled. Does anyone have pre-cut number plate vinyl? thanks..

I cut my own using stuff sold in bike shops for modern bikes.  Can be hard to find some large enough for vintage ovals though and you might need to have a join

Alternatively if you can wait for overseas delivery both Vintage Iron and DC Plastics in the US sell oval number plate backgrounds.  I bought a set off Vintage Iron via their web site and they are real heavy duty mothers!  Will be other suppliers also I'm sure. Cheers

Magoo at Red Devil racing has them in country - great size for pre 75 a tad small for pre 85 but good quality!
