I don't have a lot of knowledge of these things, but I'm sure genuine CR450's are pretty rare but replicas are fairly common.
Which one is it?
Either way it looks like a cool bike to own................. as long as you pay the right price.................  ;)

walter there are i think 2 of them and those sL, cb 200 jobbies in classic road, well back in 2000 their was as i raced against some in that class, they were buckets of puss, having said that unless the old guy and from memory girl were just cruising around mallala on them. they seemed very agricultural and knocky 4 stroke on the track.   how much is 800 euro > id say unless you know what its 'worth is' id give it a $1,500 tops sticker price landed.   There are some very cheap classic road racers for sale ATM, so unless its got track history id saqy do some more home work if your lookking to buy it its going to cost you that to even get it home.

Are you sure it's not a 450 Walter? The yellow 500 class plates and the sheer size of the engine don't look 185cc to me.
If it is a genuine Honda CR buy it for me and I'll send you the 800 euros and a few exra for the trouble.

No Mark its definitely a CB 185 , dont worry about the plate color , Thailand is not (or was not at the time when it was raced )affiliated with the FIM .

Are you sure it's not a 450 Walter?

Put ya glasses on Firko  ;D - no twin cams there  ::).

Definately a CB185, close relly of the CB175,CL175, and I think close relly of the CD200/250 (233cc) and the last CB250's. As a 185 it may have been a special, local, Asain or Thai race class.

Walter I reckon that would be as rare as rocking horse poo - but I don't think that it would make it valuable or desireable  ::).

The more I look at it the more it ain't a 450. I bow to greater knowledge. If it is a genuine Honda racer it would have some real value with collectors. It wouldn't be worth anything as a racer but you'd be surprised at what some otherwise mundane racers go for at auction. Having Honda written on the side doesn't hurt either. If it is a genuine CR and not a cocked up CB commuter bike I reckon $1366 isn't too much for classic Honda racer.
Walter sent me the photo below which clearly shows it sure ain't a 450. It's a neat little thing though.

Its great , but not so great then , if I read your posts correctly . I thought it was something out of the era of Luigi Taveri. ( The rearshocks are not correct , even I detected that and the brake is a twin leading shoe) )
Its 100 % Honda  Japan . But its not the same engine as the Honda Dream . Theres plenty of them around still in Thailand . ( There most be , because we still make 2000 pair of shocks per year for them)

looks like a cl 450 scrambler motor to me, not a 185 so that would make it about 1974 or there abouts, other than the rear shocks it could be a orginal period racer, so you never know.

i could be wrong though ;D

Cheers Trev

C'mon guys..she ain't no 450 honda..for starters they had the weird torsion bar valve train setup that made the top end of the motors look almost british. This bike does look more like CB175 CL185 or CB200 as stated and definatley nothing trick or rare. The shocks look like late model Katana or something similar.
