 After accumulating heaps of stickers over the years I decided to display them by placing them on my workshop fridge and cabinets.  The problem now is the bloody fridge has stopped working and with these later models (approx 10 years old) you dont know if it is fixable or not,  so wish me luck the repair man comes tomorrow.   It would be a shame to lose this collection, some of them are resonably new but others date from back into the 60s and 70s and some of those  companies have long since stopped trading

  Plan /1 If it's dead, rip it to bits and screw the pannells to the wall, they're generally fairly light these days!.
 At least the door anyhow.

        /2 Screw some shelving into the empty case and stock bits in it.

Had the same problem with a circa 1984 kelvinator.  Told me they couldn't guarantee the repair.  Had it sticker'd up just like that one of yours.  I use it as cupboard for all my new parts, does a great job of keeping the humidity off them.  Sort of like a time vault.  Pull a part out 20 years later and it still looks new.

Put the fridge in the sun on a hot day. You'll get most of the stickers off intact.

If its beyond repair then use it to store flamable liquids, aerosols and all that smelly stuff around the garage...

a Good Fridgey should be able to fix it if the compressor packed it in, or a thermostat failed etc. if the coils are leaky well that's another issue. Does the compressor run?

  No I dont have one but I would be interested If anyone has a spare for sale ( especially an older one).

 Hoony the compressor still runs and it still makes ice in the freezer but the lower fridge section will no longer chill.  Fingers are crossed and I will know tomorrow.

sounds like a small internal fan between sections has packed it in. let us know your outcome.

  Well some bad news some good.  Bad news is the polystyrene insulation is breaking down and this means it is becoming waterlogged and then freezing.  This causes the area around the cooling tubes at the rear of the freezer to also freeze up so badly that it seals over the drip tube which causes more water to stay in top of the fridge and the problem then gets worse.   He thinks the fridge is on borrowed time,  that will be $55 thank you (not as expensive as I thought it might be).    The good news is the auto defrost is still operating so I have attached a copper wire to it and pushed about 2 inches down the drain hole and this should stop it freezing over, I hope.  It's now turned off and after it is completely defrosted he thinks it will go back to working ok but I have to keep an eye on it and when it starts frosting up badly as he tells me it will,  then I will just have to manually defrost it like we did in the old days.  Not the best news  but maybe it will outlast me who knows.
