Past Nationals
« on: March 18, 2008, 01:50:37 pm »
My research  has come to a dead end today,so help is needed, please.
I am missing the below years of the Classic National Results and the place they where held and if sidecars where in attendance.
1987 through to 1998,
also 2004,2005.
I have been on the MA website and John Davey website and that is all I 've found.
yep I know its a big ask :-\
Thank you for your reply.
cheers Alison

hehehe.........

id rather know for sure.  I have been researching my YZ flatrack race bike for over a year, becuase im trying to find everyone that owned it, after 33 year and on another continent you think thats not been hard work.

I found and talk regularly to the original frame maker from 74, the guy it was made for,  then his brother who raced it as a pro am, then as a racr in yubi city,  then everyone after 1991 when it turned up out the blue for sale at the lodi bowl track.

But Trying to find the missing souls in the middle is the new quest, the other ones have been pure fate and persistance following storys up, person dead, phone books in county records, posting pictures, emailing old members in clubs, tuners, sponser etc.    when you hit the middle its hard as they are just like you and me joe average, it may have been parked in ther shed for 10 years never changing hands,  the almost rans are the hardest to get found.

good luck in your search, mine has become an overwhelming passion, my misses walks at the mere mention of this bike or any words that resemble : look we have found, you wont believe this, or look at this picture it shows .................

then again its the thrill of the chase, and they are just as spun out when they get a call from some guy in australia and say how the hell did you find me after all this time....... then they remember like it was yesterday.........     hehehe

its been a very rewarding experiance, and you relise the true power of the internet.
