Oh dear-now I'll have to retro-fit the Wasp with drum brakes and short shocks-just to fit in.
Sounds like a great plan though Super.
BTW what happened to Harrisville-20 mins from my home.

That's great.......This being the first Nats under the new split system should be bigger than Ben Hur. After watching the Crystal Brook event on telly and seeing the full pre 75 grids it's fairly obvious to me that at Nationals level, the pre 75 division is still the most supported in our sport so now that the older classes have their own event we can now push for even more growth within the ranks, especially from the pre 65 and pre 60 classes.
Pre 60 has been the forgotten class for so long that it's often been left out of the program because of a lack of numbers. Since the organisers have announced that pre 60 is to be the featured class I've heard of a number of bikes being prepped to appear including Jonesy's exotic Monark 500 and my own proposed TriBSA. I've also heard of a BSA Goldstar, an historic pre unit TriBSA and Matchless G80 being dusted off for the event.

It's also a great opportunity to get the pre '78 class up and running a bit stronger than it has in the past. Pre '78 is the ideal 'crossover' class for guys from the later era scene to compete on bikes with a bit more suspension than the pre 75 bikes offer. Bikes for the pre '78 class are often overlooked which is a shame as there are some grounbreaking products from that era like the first series RM's and mid series Yamaha monoshocks.

Whatever class you support, the 2012 Classic MX Championships will be a ripper.

I've already booked holidays for June and maybe a bit more. I'm hoping there are a few other vintage meets close to the same time to make the trip really worthwhile, anything within 1,000km is worth considering.

Firko, I'll get a chance to see if my "swingarm of no gods" is legal too.

Oops. That's been done. 2012!  ;D
Remember that the '07 Nat's at Coffs Harbour was the first event that included pre '78, so it has been done before and very successfully as well.
