If they were made they are very rare and it would be extremely hard to find one. They mostly made them for the smaller bikes around this period. There were water cooled heads for the YZ250 though Eg Shinobi.

Like Leith says, most trick heads where for 125's, most people cant ride a 250 to anywhere near its full potential, spend the money on your suspension.

get a standard head and take all the web bracing off
and it will look like a dg head
heaps cheaper and you probably wouldnt notice the
differance with a real dg head anyway ;D

Webco still had heads for YZ/IT 250, 400 etc in the 79/80 catalogue that i have. In the 80-85 period DG made a few heads for the last of the big bore air cooled bikes RM500, CR480, YZ490 etc although i have never seen one in real life i do have the pics/sales ads. They also made them for CR250 red devil but i have not seen a listing for YZ250.

If you think you need more cooling you could get creative and make your own fancy finned head or make a water cooled head.

Does that show heads for the 79 and 80 models Leith? I had a webco catalogue that showed up to 77 yz 400 heads (same as 78) but none after that.

seem to remember a mob that was offering machining of original heads to look like a  porcupine head for about half the price.
