« on: August 06, 2011, 06:17:57 am »
Hi
I'm looking for transport for a bike from Browns Plains to Sydney. Happy to pay fuel costs etc. Alternatively can anyone recommend a transport company for this?
Cheers
Shaun

Birko, the good news is that Bankstown-Wylie Park club will be running classes for flat trackers on the speedway track at Nepean-starting later this year. Thanks to some good lobbying by people close to the action, they'll be including a vintage class, possibly Pre 80 to start, moving into other eras as more bikes appear. There are a number of American styled flat trackers, both modern and vintage coming into the country so it's only a matter of time before other tracks take this type of racing on.

The good thing about these bikes is that you can run them in dirt track as well by just fitting a front brake ...a win win situation.

Freaky...then he'd have to repaint the new tail to match the cool tank paint....lotsa luck in that little endevour ;D. I think Matcho Mick makes the correct tail for the Trackmaster if he does decide to do it though.

The engine unfortunately cuts it out of pre '75. It's a '76/77 Husky CR360 and can't be de engineered to fit in pre '75 as the engine didn't exist in '74. I've been told Birko as a plan at hand to sort that little anomoly.

I dont have a clue on Husky's, hence my post in there thread re the 400.  So far i get oval case is pre 70 then everything else looks like the same shape after that. Still good lil project.

The reason amoungst others is the chamion tail doesnt sit right to the eye on that frame ( its like a swing arm of the gods)  the tank is pre 70 and the champion rear is out of character on that bike with the big gap at the rear it looks like a tack on.   Forget the paint i wouldnt think its worth saving, i reckon you could do a better scheme anyway.

Im also not sure on that fixing point as the pad support is higher and would crack if you push back and its not supoorted there for too long, so the fittment or what ever bracket made up to support it presently would be somthing id be worried about.

Besides all that the coffin tank and tail kinda would work better on it if he is retro fitting it to be a 75 i reckon.

Mines in a 72 trim ATM  , but im going to take it back to pre 70
SO im on the hunt for a rear Ali- full guard, bates solo seat and the same tank as he has or the bread box version.

Anyone got them i would look at swaps on the glass as i have other bikes for pre 75 and dont use this one, but its crying out for pre 70 scheme

I reckon the standard Trackmaster tank looks great. I tried Hindall, Champion and a Knight tank on my Hindall tracker and had almost settled on the Knight coffin tank when as an afterthought put the Trackmaster tank off my Benelli project on it and voila!! Perfect. I reckon Birkos tank is just right too.

Here's a trackmaster using the same tank/seat combo as mine. the seat doesn't seem to fit all that well.
