Well a late one down the shed last night, a new selector shaft o-ring and cover gasket fitted to the Husky, nearly ready to go. Tonight I will give the 465 a once over. For once I may actually be ready on time. ;D

Think i'm getting to the end of it all  ;D I'm taking a 1980 PE175 and Dads ridding his 1982 WR430 Husky-Seems to be a few husky lovers up north  :P Got a new set of Hagon shockers sorted for the PE today and the rear brake shoes relined and matched to the drum. Got to jump on the lathe and machine up some chain rollers-as the ones i ordered off DC plastics along with my head light shroud for the PE haven't turned up yet and seeing that there still sitting in the US, i doubt i'll see them before the weekend. Was going to try to clean the tank up and put a set of stickers on it but i want have the time. So then it just needs putting all back together. Got the front end in today after matching the front brake shoes to the drum and putting new fork seals in and some fresh oil. The Husky had cracked the clutch cover around one of the dowels-so got it welded but wasn't a very good job so hopefully some devcon will keep it all together for the weekend. Got that going off atm so then need to put the clutch cover back on it and give it a quick squirt and make sure its happy. Did a service on my car today and its done a timming case seal so will be replacing that and putting a new harmonic balancer on it before i set off on a 10hr trip. Then i better start packing i guess.

Report from Shoey, everything is ready to go, looks like good riding weather for the weekend, a litte frosty at night.

Well, that was fun - and there's still tomorrow to go. :)

Great turn out, at least 62 entries (I was rider #62), including several interstate riders.

Course was slightly harder than last time I was up there, but definitely not killer. Some dust at times, but nothing too bad.

The mix of bikes was less eclectic than it was at Harrow, with most bikes being Evo or pre-85 Jap bikes - lots of ITs, XRs and PEs, with a fair smattering of converted MXers and the expected fleet of Huskys from Shoey and Pete...

Two thumbs up!
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

It was indeed fun - I had a ball.  What a great combination of grasstrack and single track!  Throw in some creek/mud crossings, some decent steep hills, some grarly switchbacks and you got a decent vinduro course.  The track was run the reverse direction sunday, which keeps things fresh.  Great to see a lot of familiar faces (since classic dirt), all enjoying some simple dirtbike fun over two gorgeous days.  And a great testing ground for my vmx/vinduro project bike (tt250).  Not being a race, was able to sort lots of things (mainly, whether the cdi unit was playing up, or just bad jetting - swapped both the cdi then the carb off ekka's beast, found it was jetting - go leaner (once) young man, go leaner).  And what a great collection of bikes!  I said to Graeme on the way in, I really hope I see an....XL250 Motorsport - one of which gently putted by us as soon as drove into the pits.  Thanks Ribbo and the manly warringah club!!

By the way, wusses that we are, we slummed it overnight at the Rockley Pub - and despite it being packed to the rafters with drunk, dancing, swearing, fighting partygoers from a wedding party and a bucks party, we had a great night in a cosy country pub, nicely looked after by the publican's wife, complete with three course meal, and a nice cold beer with each course - choice!!!

Well I survived and so did The XT/TT500. I don't know what was harder ride the awesome track or cleaning the ute and bike when I got home. That was my first Rockley and enduro and I'd like to thank all those involve in organising and running the event. Bring on the next one.

Gotta echo those sentiments - a truly memorable weekend. Huge thank you to the organisers, you did a great job. The whole thing ran without a hiccup and as far as I know - no injuries. A great course with some fun sections and a few little challenges to make it all the more enjoyable. This was the ITs first serious ride and it went great all weekend. It slogged up the hills, forded the creeks, kept me shiny side up through the twisty bits and got up a decent turn of speed on the grasstrack.

The second day was best for me - the course suited me better for some reason and after the several laps on the Saturday I was definitely getting back into the groove.

At one stage I just sat back and took it all in.  It could have been any Sunday in 1982 - PEs, ITs, YZs, CRs - all the usual suspects from back in the day. And in the hills, the rasp of 2-strokes on the gas. It could not have got any better!

Unfortunately an unexpected health snag prevented me from going up to Rockley as I'd promised the boys.
I know how much work Shoey, Ribbo, Husky Pete and the Manly-Waringah club put into the event so it's great that you're all supporting them. This can only get bigger. ;)

My brother David and I both had a great time. Thanks to the Manly Warringah Motorcycle club.
Managed to kill both bikes though. The IT175F was jumping out of gear.

Blew out a base gasket on the IT200 on the first lap.
Didn't work out what the problem was until half way around the 2nd lap and by then it was sucking so much air and pre-igniting that I couldn't go on.
Waited a while for the sweep rider to come back with a tow rope but when he didn't show I had to use bush mechanics.
Loosened off the base nuts and fitted a couple of gum leaves to stop the leak.
It got me back and a plug check showed ok and so I continued on to complete five laps.
But it blew out the back also and so we went home Saturday night.
