Clutch o-ring
« on: May 09, 2011, 05:50:41 pm »
Can anyone tell me the correct section of o-ring for the clutch gear?
I've got to replace mine while doing the kickstart spring but have come across 2 different sizes, my 74 parts book says 4mm but the lists on czmadness reckon 5mm so Im not sure which is right
The pieces sitting on my bench are about 5.2-5.3mm high by around 3.75mm wide

Hi
that "o" ring that goes inside the clutch hub( between the gear and the basket) is listed as a 43mm x 35mm , that is  outside dia. & inside diameter  they are that size since side pipes , they are hard enough to fit without trying to slip in a fatter one,  I use a rounded end plastic knitting needle to locate it in the space without damaging the "o" ring.

cheers

Thanks Jikov, is it a normal o-ring or some other shape?

Hi.
Its just a normal "o"ring, but when you dig the old one out, you will find it squashed into a different shape than the new one.
cheers
