Triple clamps with a lot more offset than standard were used on sidecars for a period of time, usuallly on home builts that couldnt afford a leading link and 2 shocks, although custom billet triples were never that cheap either. I know some guys who used to actually prefer forks instead of a leading link, some with standard triples some with custom ones with more offset like these. They always say once you go leading link you will never go back to forks but i know one guy who actully did for a period of time and he is an engineer who actually used to build sidecars and leading links. His argument was that there was less things to go wrong with forks, which was important for long distance events. Ive put some sidecars on road bikes and they have been impossible to ride without a leading link. Once you put one on though it completely changes the steering for the better if the leading link is properly designed for the bike its going on.
