Hey slidey how WAS your condition after sat nites p*** I mean knees up?
I suspect an encounter with several experienced consumers.
Puts me in mind of a raceday at Musswellbrook a long time ago when I remember the then race caller said "I dont Know what they did to Jimmy W at the club last night but it worked!."  Memory of a nice bloke.

BTW I took my XTslider to practice on saturday along with the old RT1, both of which are o.k. it seems the gremlins have been excorsised from ignition of the XT, and I am looking forward to April 10.
cheers

I was a very good boy Wally, backed off at about 9.30 and drank water until stumps.
Billy Mac, Ray Curtis, TH, Fraze, Pummo and all the other usual suspects, went pretty hard at it.
A great night all round, sad to see the physical change in others who are getting on a bit now, but thats better than the alternative.

One thing that really struck me Wally was, how these guy's that we all thought were bullet proof in the day, could look so fragile today.
My own childhood hero, The Captain, had 2 hearing aids and Fraze is recovering from recent Heart Surgery.
I want to catalogue as much of Short Circuits history as I can and as much as I don't want to admit it, these legends won't be around forever.
I need to pull my finger out and just get on with it.
Another attendee was Vince Tierney who won the OZ Junoir ( 350cc ) Title in 1960 which was also the year the year I was born.
Vince worked for my Dad for a number of years and has always been a very quiet, unasuming bloke but his health isn't the best at this time, he's 82 now and his mind is still crystal clear.
If I don't get off my arse, memmories could be lost forever.
I should add that Ian Burkett has kindly offered to help me out with my research as he actually raced for most of the Golden Years. :P

Amen to all your last post , Steve ,
Time goes by far too quickly , I haven't yet got back in contact with Ray and Steve Anderson to see what other films they have , I will do it when I go back down the coast.

I've also come across some pix of Charlie Edwards and Ray Owen at Romsey and also some info on Charlies Yamaha TD 350 twin thing that Booey rode at Bendigo ,also an article on Clarrie Jones in the early '70s.
I'll post them when I get a chance.

Just re-reading your post of the 16th steve and was speaking to Freddy the other day. He spoke about chatting to 'Debbo' and 'Monkey' among others. Interested to hear Vince T was there, another of natures gentlemen. Sorry I missed all of that.
 NEXT-who's for Nepean  on 10th?
 cheers pancho

Hey Pancho,I remember bumping into Freddie on the night but I forgot his name.
Speaking of another legend, Debbo, my memmories were of him being a towering man but the passing of time has made him stoop over a bit now but he is still a regular participant in rally's and simmilar events.
Him & Billy Mac rode dads Twingled Tiger 100 at the fist Nepean 6hr, they were quite a few laps in front when the oil tank split.
Billy did tell me about something, apart from oil, that dad put in the engine in an attempt to reach the flag,
while it worked for a little while eventually it stopped. I can't remember what it was that he used.
Great memmories.
Billy will be at Nepean this Sunday as his grandson is riding at the Speedway meeting.

Would that have been Bardahl Slides?, It was very big in the 60's and did some very impressive tests and demo's. Very good in engines that did not use slipper white-metal bearings for its anti friction qualities, but dissapeared after bad publicity re corrosion.
Our team used Moli-bond. cheers.  Roll on April 10!

i use to ride at nepean when they had pre 75 classes. i think i will only do the charity day this year as the entry fees are way to high and you dont get a lot of bike time as they have trouble running 2 rounds.
