As a Cheney owner and fan, I must reluctantly admit that those Ribi Yamahas (both 2 & 4 stroke) set new standards for the words flucking ugly. When Eric got it right his bikes are sublime but when he got it wrong, he really got it wrong. I really wish Eric had found someone with an artistic eye to design his tanks and bodywork ::).

Can't possibly understand why that bike with the Ribi and XT engine has a uglyer tank than the coffin one of the beloved 70's Maicos??

Somehow Honda made their forks look much prettier than Cheney's, finally I ended up with leading link front end for my Cheney from German source, Yah baby

I dont think there's anything wrong with the workmanship, only the execution - NOTHING "flows", in a design sense and it just looks awkward.

Ribi's are cool but for simplicity I like my Swenco leading links. They're going on one of my DT1 Yamaha's for a desert racing theme. These things redefine the word rare, I'm lucky to have found them.
