« on: January 24, 2011, 01:55:51 pm »
It's being sold by John? aka vmxmad

Is anyone familiar with the bloke or the bike?

I'd like to know if it's a ridgeydidge original mx or a bit of a mongrel dog mixture of dt, yz etc

Just a "B: model and an MX at that, dont see to many at teh races as they are in the wrong class ( as in pre78 so are out of there leugue in there)

Ask for the serial numbers if theres a 5 series prefix, its most lightly the 75 B, as in there isnt much point in putting a YZ motor or vice versa in there its probally a fair guess its a still complete and correct.
74 Yamaha YZ's - 75 Yamaha YZ's
74 Yamaha  flattracker's
70  Jawa 2 valve speedway's

For sale -  PRE 75 Yamaha MX stuff, frame, motors and parts also some YAM DT1,2,A and Suzi TS bikes and stuff

thanks. He did say he thought it started with 509, but would have to check (and hasn't)
I've noticed some of the clever folk in here can spot something outta place a mile off on some old bikes, so thought I'd ask.

Is there not many bikes in the pre 78 class?
Nob's 'gunna' resurrect his 75 yammy with a view to some Heaven type racing.
(At the moment he can't even view his feet over his beerbelly, so I'm not holding my breathe for it to happen)

no there are plenty of bikes in pre 78, just that the mx250B isnt one of the most popular,  if he wants to just buzz around the field itll be fine.  OR if he is a fat guts buy one of my mx360A and race pre 75, have a little more pulling power so to speak and pre 75 youll always have a class and and age to ride in.

oh God, I daren't mention the 360 to him,
it's his dream to have one of each, mx250 360 500 or whatever the heck they are  ::)
(and he believes the 75 mx250 is the bestest bike ever. I think he'll be in for a shock when he throws his mammoth leg over and the poor bike grunts and groans and struggles to get moving under his weight) :o
