there is a nice 420 listed for what looks like a very good price in Victoria at the moment - Firko here's your chance?

I've got no room Rossco.....I'm thinning the herd as well as finishing the projects I've got before I even think of buying another bike. I do like those Kwaka big bores though!

I agree with everyone else....Another nice resto. It's refreshing that you've resisted the temptation to bling her up John. It's lovely and clean. I had a KX420 and wish I'd have kept and restored it after seeing this gem.
Yes Firko i don't like them to look too much different from what was available in the day, i reckon they look better like that.

Great job John,very tasty indeed.
A mate of mine over here is three quarters through a resto on the same model KX500.
I will try and get a photo,he jagged all new plastic for it,but the rear guard cost him a motza.

See if you can get a photo Craig, i'm always interested to see how others come up.

Here is my 84 nearly completed.  All I need is a chain. This bike is unrestored apart from a NOS rear fender and new DEP silencer. It sat for many years with a broken engine case.

Looking good! that's in great condition for an unrestored bike. Do you plan on racing it?

Thanks guys, not sure if I will race it as I have a few other pre-85 bikes. My 84 KX250 is my usual race bike.

Very nice.after looking for years for an air-cooled 500 I had all but given up. yesterday whilst not looking I found my long lost 500. certainly will be referencing your photos as I plan the restoration of it. your bike is inspirational. crab man in africa :)
