the whole truth and nothing but the the truth
« on: December 22, 2010, 08:27:56 pm »
well, i'm sitting here pondering the meaning of VMX, yes I know it's 2 days till Christmas and I'm a sorry arse, but where do we go from here. I dont get it, I watched mates pass and the void gets bigger, is more of the same the anwser and does anyone see the merit of more class's for the sake of it, the future is in our hands, or am I just a sad old bastard wanting more of the same and less of we do or die crap for every new class.

and i think every race in Aus should be a min of 10 minutes plus 1 lap.

grumpy Worms, and Merry Christmas

I agree with you Trev, that any moto at an Australian title event should be at the very minimum 15 minutes long. Otherwise it is just sprint races and devalues the importance of the title . But the best way to fit longer races into an already crowded program is to split the Nats into two events , as proposed to MA by Col Metcher. A split at pre '78 and earlier seems the logical place and Firko has written about this in his column in the latest VMX magazine. I know that I will never ride Evo class at a Nats again, until there is an age group system in place, as it is pointless racing against ever increasing numbers of younger guys that are going to kick your arse every time. I think that the only way capacity age group classes in Evo can be fitted in, is at an Evo and later Nats.
As for the addition of any other classes, one that I would like to see is an Evo fourstroke class. The poms run a twinshock fourstroke class at their events and it seems fairly popular. Its only a matter of time before pre '90 classes will be added as well . I would not like to see kids on 80s at vintage meetings , but if ever they were allowed , they should have to be on period vintage 80cc machines.

The whole truth is that I think Trev ought to get some counselling. I know that he's a good bloke, but whatever it is that he's struggling to deal with (and its clearly not just the challenges facing the sport of VMX) is also clearly bringing a lot of hassles into his life.

I'm not going to lecture you Trev, and I'm not going to entertain any "there's nothing wrong" vs "yes there is" arguments. Everyone can see that you're not in a good place, and its a shame.
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

Maybe I'm a bit thick but I have no idea what you're on about Trev. Please stop inventing new things to worry about, chill out and enjoy Christmas.  :-\

Thank goodness for that. For a minute there, I thought I had misread the initial post . I took it as a comment on the state of the future of VMX, rather than the state of Worms mind  ???. Seems to be more than a few backyard psychiatrists on this forum  ;).

Seems like you all want a split in the Nats ,which would solve these issues. You just need to ensure you're clubs and state bodies act on your wishes. This is only a forum ,not a decision or policy making body.PM me if you want a copy of the proposal.Firco's VMX column [current issue] puts the case well.

I hope not.
Try your GP, or there's tons of people to ring.
I'm serious - this is not a shot at you or anything of the sort.

H5E, yep... I don't expect Worms to do anyhing about it, but maybe it will be the first prod in the right direction for him. And at least this way I won't be guilty of not saying anything if he continues on the same path.
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.
