I used to ride to work with Bob 'motor mouth' Johnson on a Matralla from Redcliffe to the 'Gabba every day for a year or so back in the late 70's. He could ride the little bugger too, but as you say-very tall gearing.

Agreed, first one is Santi Herrero's works monocoque not sure if there was any other disc valve Ossa?

They were experimenting with a water cooled version when he died.

He still prefered the air cooled engine though.

Montynut google Bultaco Monjuic (or montjuic?),most of those later "bully" race motors were dutch creations,whichever factory paid the race team,thats what they would call them,aermacchi also had a twin w/cooled barrels,aircooled radial finned heads, 2 stroke developed by the villa brothers too,

what would be the motivation for a watercooled cylinder and air cooled head? Even getting the head gasket to seal when the temperature difference would be so great would seem difficult
