Depends what is powdercoated.....either sandblast or chemical clean.

itsa frame . but it was recently powdercoater but i dont like the colour

Sandblast it, the powdercoater should be able to redo it.

Blast with Garnet will take a while but should take it off .

Sand blasting works but is slow as its hard to get off. I re did my cz frame that was powdercoated.

A good operater will get it off.

A friend of mine has a sand blasting and power coating business and told me the best way to get power coat off is to burn it off. Not with the oxy, but send it to a specialised power coat removal business to burn it off. As far as i know there is only one doing power coat burns for the whole of  SE Qld.

You could always bump it , with a spanner and such.
Worked for me when assembling my newly painted frame.

I have just stripped the paint of a monoshock spring with paint stripper.
Have been told ,on this forum that it,s powder coat.
Sorta worked, sorta.

I get a company called Colorex to remove powdercoating, new or old it does it easily & cheaply. It's a non caustic chemical bath. There may be a franchise near you.

is there a chance that this procedure will get in side the frame and cause damage from the inside out over a period of time

Nope, it water soluable and the guys give it a good was before handing them back. No different from washing the frame out with a pressure washer.

IF its only just been pwdersoated why cant they lay a new colour over the top get it re powdercoated an new shade of Black.
