Crikey ,for $5,000 you'd want the tank stickers put on straight at least.

It sure is purty though.... ::)

Just remember that the NOS exhaust pipes can go for >US$1000 each, so there are some difficult to get parts on that bike... ;)

AJ
That XR75 K1 has a modified K4/5 XR75/79 XR80 pipe on it, the tail pipe has been cut off to make it look like an early pipe, you can still buy the late pipes from Honda for $210, their is a few things wrong on the bike, they are
Tire info decal on chain guard, should be on rear guard.
Chain guide & rear brake stay black, should be zinc colour.
Throttle cable through front number plate, should be behind plate.
Uses K2/3 front brake cable guide, should have KO/K1 type behind number plate on plate bracket.
Wrong colour used on engine cases.
Missing taco blanking  plug (rubber) on clutch cover.
Missing rubber caps on clutch/brake levers.
Honda tank wings wrong postion.
Info decals missing on tank.
Rear shock decals facing out should be facing in.
Later model rims used
Front/Rear guards mounting plates are black should be zinc
Wrong finish (polished) on forks/rocker cover/ center fly wheel cover and brake backing plate
Front engine bolts fitted wrong way round.
Exhaust warning decal in wrong postion on swing arm.
Missing the opac plastic band for the kill switch cable.
Clutch cable/kill switch cable not routed through the handle bar clamp guide.
Swing arm bolt has washer on chain side should not be their.

He claims it is perfect and finished as standard, I know I have been a bit anal about this but if you are asking that sort of money he should have done a bit research on finishing this XR75
PS: He strated the auction at $7000 then reduced back to $5000

Jeez Dave, very anal of you! That's the great thing about this forum and the vintage movement in general. If you don't know something about a particular bike there is definitely someone out there who does. I was impressed by your knowledge of these little tiddlers when we had a few beers at the Coffs Nats. I'm amazed you can spot so much wrong with that XR from the photos. Good work.

The latest news from AJ is that he now has two of those GRM, Mexican trials bikes on the water. One will probably be for sale so I'd reckon you'll need it to park next to the Coopers! Catch you at CD5

Hey thanks Betric...  :o

Quite a few of those "little things" you have highlighted are pretty easy to fix though.

I must admit that my first viewing of the photos did raise alarm bells regarding the pipe - due to the unusually large size of the outlet.

I also didn't know that the later pipes were still available - I've got a Red XR that needs one... 8)

Maybe there are bits on my K1 that are "more stock" than this one... ;D

Love that orange pipe though!!!
