YET ANOTHER 83 250 Question!
« on: April 08, 2010, 01:20:20 pm »
I know I know but it's nearly finished just tidying up little bits and pieces.  Who would of thought so much to do on something that looked so complete.  Anyway I am chasing pre printed backgrounds just to make the bike look bling at least in that area.  I have been asked by one supplier if the 250 side panels are the same as the 125 as he has the pattern for the 125 - can anyone tell me?  I know they look very close to the 480 but don't know about the 125?

Any help much appreciated.

Hey RVC, checked out the mirco fish online and they have different part numbers but sometimes that means nothing. The 84's are one fits all but not sure on the 83.

Thanks for sticking it up Craig for me mate ;)

The 1983 250 and 480 side panels are exactly the same due to left side kick starters and pipes. The number panels are hence the same. I am not sure about the 125 other that the side panels (note not the number panels) are different to the 250 due to a right side pipe. Does not answer your question but maybe it will get you closer. P. S let me know how you get on. My 83 cr250 is nearly finished and some nice backgrounds would set it off.
Cheers

Scott - www.jakesgarage.com - list pre printed backgrounds for the 83.  I am part way through ordering a set.  On the web site they are the 47L/V Smith plates?

Hope that helps.

Nice web site. I like the old school electrical tape look. Very funny.
What is the total price au landed? fifty us for a stock set is cheap.

$75US - for 3 plates, your choice of background, font, name and highlighting.  So will see how they go.  I sent some stuff off to the guy you recommended Brad but that came back expensive - as you said this is cheapish.

Looks good! Keep me posted on how they are when they turn up Rossco! I have made some backgrounds up, but my tracing skills are some what lacking.

I have all but finished my 1983 CR250. Finallly awaiting some brake shoes to turn up (the epay ones did not fit (I reckon lots of punters think that the 82 and 83 are the exactly the same....which they are not)).

Cheers

Now now, don't make me bring the hammer down on you Mongus.

Still, the thing better ride well, given the work that has gone into it. Otherwise it will be thrown back, with the kwackas and yammies...

Scunge its going to be a big ask given the last 250's you rode were my 250Z and 250D. I dont like your chances on the pogo stick rear suspended red lemon...
