Hannah & Lackey were on team Honda, it was around this time that Honda bought everyone they could.
Hannah was No 25, can't remember Lackey's No but he was their.

Na , never been there unfortunately. Geoff's first photo is from Hangtown 85 .It was the 1st national that year I think. We were on the Stephen Gall Cali. tour together with a bunch of other guys.
Almost exactly 25 years ago! Jessuuusss!

Not convinced about Lackey Geoff - maybe he was mentor or something

Lackey finished at the end of '82 after he won his world title he couldn't get a ride the following season.
He rode for Team Honda in '77 & '78.

I spent this morning looking for the program to sort you doubting bastards out, but Lackeys names not in there. But then they have left out Breker & Ward as well.
A phone call to Dave I guess pretty much confirms that he wasn't riding. Apparently he lives in the area.
Too many Bundies & Bourbons over the years I guess.
Seems that Hangtown was the second event that year, Gainsville, Florida was the opener.

Found some old "Revs" as well. They did some reports on what was going on over their.
A fit & slim Dave holds the pit board for Heffo.
Long before Wacko Jacko started the one white glove fashion Dave could be seen with one white boot.

I was their with the same picture in mind, couldn't quite get the exposure right though.
I might have done better if those other photographers weren't getting in my way ;D

Revs also did a story on the guys at the last Golden State round. I was oblivious to the photo shoot as I was wandering around the track taking photo's myself.
I don't think Brent was their because he was bludging in Hawaii

Thanks, enjoying this thread very much fellas. I've just started looking back over Hannah's great career. Was lucky enough to get an autographed pic from the great man himself. It's ironic that we couldn't get an autograph from Chad at the Super X but have been able to recently get both the Hurricane's and McGrath.

photo#2 Broc doing the double .This is the double that Dave Hammond is pitboarding Heffo to do - even though he already had a big lead.

Yeah that would have been the double at "dirt diggers ditch"
We had talked about it earlier and thought it was jumpable even though most of us couldn't and no one was doing it. Heffo said he would give it a go if he wasn't under pressure. He had a good lead in the last race and that's why Dave is giving him the wind up.
He was the only one of the Amateurs to jump it on Saturday. Come Sunday with the Pro's and they were all doing it.

I remember waiting for Bailey to come round so I could get him on these doubles. Would have been around the end of practice. Most of them had to gun it to make the distance. Someone fell of in front of Bailey on the short straight before the double and Bailey backed off to go around him so I lowered my camera. Then there was this deep bark, Braaaaaap, as Bailey clutched the RC 500 and still easily made the distance. The guy was awesome.
