EML/WALTER
Not looking to initiate bun fights, just wanting to clarify something I wrote which could be easily misinterpreted.  EML with a fused spine 3 weeks ago my racing days are finished although I'd luv to take up the offer, will have a chat with Russ and if you pm me a contact I'll get him to have a chat with you. He is an affable bloke and always up for a challenge. even a club day would be special. At some stage I wanted to put my 18 year old boy in the chair with him, just to open up his eyes, you know at that age they know everything, done everything! At least he's a fit, strong bugger. Nowadays I reckon I'd be having a picnic on the ground before we got to the first corner and my weight may tip the trike in the parking lot. Hope things go well with you blokes for the coming season as the chairs just add that special dimension into vmx and need to be fostered at all counts. Hope to catch up with you somewhere.

Rossco I dint say that to start a fight  , but the bike was impounded after the  race and nobody questioned the engine .The engine is a genuine GRM 998 .There are 5 of them in Australia .   I  just dont appreciate those sour grape jibs anymoore  :(

I am the first to admit that you and Popeye are spectacular to watch however when did you get close enough for a  pass EML? We are racing for a championship. What were you expecting a written invitation to pass! When you were racing with Walter did you ever put a protest in about his engines? Damien and Walter put lots of hours of work into his sidecars just like you, Popeye and Ron, We want to win  just like you do. When you slag off Walter you are tarring us all with the same brush our team won the championship fair and square. And if you win our team will be the first to congratulate you and your team and any other team which wins. Quit your whinging we will see you at Broadford Good Luck. Regards Steve

Stan , do you know what ever happen to that Wallan track ?

Gday Walter, no I don't know what happened to Owen Park. Wouldn't it be great if someone was to convince the current owners to run a VMX meeting there?

Can't remember the exact rd but you exited left off the Hume at Beveridge, or you could follow Mickleham Rd all the way out  and thne take a short rd into the property. Rays house sat high to the left of the entrance as you swung right down intow the creek area that ran thrpuogh the bottom of the track, it may be somewhere out near Daraweit Guim but i'd doubt weather anything could now be recognised.

We used to turn off the Hume into Taylors Ln Wallan, 1km, left at Rowes Ln, .5 km  R/hand 90d bend, .5 km,this meets Old Sydney Rd,turn left back to Melbourne, .3km on the right I reckon is the entrance to Owen park wallan, Taylors Ln's on melways map 645, but the map runs out, you can follow the rest on Google earth, there's cleared land and a house to the left, the entrance track winds to the right around trees to where the pits and start were, No signs of any MX remains and I maybe totally wrong but its the closest i've found.  :-\

KB, I Recon' your on the money with your directions\location. Had a look-see myself when I was in the area a while ago but couldn't work out where the entrance used to be or see any signs of an MX past life, if I recall correctly you could never see the track from the road?

if the drought keeps up we might be getting a look at xmas hills again!! :D

Yeah i reckon..
On a side note, Ray Owen who used to own the Wallan track lives about a kilometer from my place and has a shed full of his old bikes.
