Unrool Mark, what a track.
Correct me if I'm wrong, those photo's are from that massive downhill sweeper just before the start straight?
I've been there twice, the second time, 198?, I rode at the OZ titles and I shat myself coming over the crest.

I posted that reply while you were uploading more shot's, def that corner, you needed balls of steel to be quick there.

Yep, thats THE corner Slides. I smashed my clavical (shoulder) and had 3 months off work right about where Lenny Norris is in the pic. VERY FAST corner. Loved it.  Mark

Thanks for posting all the great images Slider 29. Do you have any idea where that last (grid) shot was taken and was it a heat, semi or final. Big ask I know mate.

In that company on those bikes on that track in that final it's guys like Chris Kelly on what appears to be a 250 Bully that went a long way toward making Short Circuit the spectacle it was in the late sixty's, seventy's and eightys. Go the chookies.

Chris Kelly was a bloody GUN on the Astro. If i remember correctly he had the 250 and a 360. I wanted one! Going by the green front plate he is on the 250. They were very quick bikes. I'm surprised they weren't a lot more popular in Oz. Chris was/is a top bloke as well and like me, his Dad was his pit crew. He won the 250 title that day at Seymour. Gary Flood won the 125 on a hagon/bultaco.   Mark

Raced with Chris from about 11 years of age. Sold him my trick SL70 when I moved  into sub juniors. Generally it was his Uncle that pitted for him. He lived with the family in Altona and had raced speedway cars for years

I know Mark, us true believers are running on empty while others promise and come up with Jack.
