A graphic illustration of the different riding styles. Slider vs Mx. This photo was taken at Ballina. Saw an amazing thing happen to Chris Watson there one day. Part way through the fast corner at the end of the straight his godden broke a conrod just under the gudgeon pin. The remaining part of the rod then proceded to cut the crankcases in half. The motor then fell out of the frame and under the back wheel. Chris rode the chassis to a standstill with the engine plates dragging on the ground. The motor was about fifty metres away. I would not have thought it possible if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes... amazing.

I remember #658 too but not his name . Great shots! I only rode Heddon Greta  once, on my ol' AJAY, got my first scar. (Only a little one on my left Knee cap) Would have been  in'62.

All of this slider action is bloody fantastic. Great photos and info. Thanks fellas.
By the way I'm still after a Godden frame/roller from around '75 ;) Foss will
get a slight twinge when he looks at the Elstar. Beautiful.
