Hi Slakewell
What's the little XL like? Would you have a photo or two and what sort of money are you thinking?
Thanks
Tony

The little XL is in bits but complete it was whole and not going when I purchased it, mainly lack of compresion, the engine was just plain worn out nothing more. I paid $350 for it as a project for my son he is now working full time and will not finish it. I'm over having bikes sitting for years waiting there turn that my never come hench selling or giving away sheds full of stuff. Ill post some photo's of everything thats left next week.

When some people have a shed cleanout they have the odd Montesa to part with, anything spanish getting the flick?
Rob

There were many Montesa parts including a running VR 250 they have all gone to new homes and hopefully will return to the track.

Thanks for that. But I was only interested if it was in good condition and running.

Why this may seem a little trivial since you gave us the frame numbers but the information suggest an 80's model? red tank with MC world champs would normally be a 75 again none were imported in 75 into AUS, if it has an orange frame with braced swing arm its probably 78 onwards. I'm no KTM know all so anyone chip in here? A photo of the MC would be great. slakewell at bigpond.com

The numbers by this site are consistant with an MC5

http://www.pentonpartsusa.com/10%20B%20Technical%20KTM.htm

Neither are 80's .I had a 1980 420 backin the day .they have plastic tanks and alloy arms and marzocchis forks.
The MC5 has fibreglass tanks , steel arms etc.my spare frame is orange and def 78 GS(or 77) but the mc5 is silver ---also the arms between the two are different but both are chromoly steel.

I'll try and get some pics
