60s and 70s Bultaco parts
« on: September 19, 2009, 01:21:10 pm »
A while ago I bought a swag of Bultaco parts from the widow of a mate who had been collecting a wide range of Bultaco parts. There was one bike he was working that I wanted but I had to buy the rest of the collection to get it, so I ended up with lots of unwanted parts. I have sold off some through eBay and these forums.
Trying to guess what people are looking for and putting them on eBay is taking too long and I often guess wrong.
I've decided to try asking if there is something that people want and I will see if there is one.
The thing that complicates this a bit is that a lot of parts have been taken off the bike they originated from, and there are parts from some Bultaco models I'm not very familiar with.
Here are the models that I am pretty sure there are parts for (because there are either frames or engines/cases or wheels that I recognise):
M19 Lobito
100cc, 125cc and 175cc motor parts, 4 speed and 5 speed
M85 Alpina
M99 Alpina
M137/138 Alpina
M212/213 Alpina
Matador
Metralla
Mercurio
Campera
M27 Sherpa T
M49 Sherpa T
Pursang Mk2 to Mk7
Frontera

If there is something you need, you may need to work out a way to help me identify it amongst lots of other similar Bultaco parts.

Grumpy was looking for a Metralla toolbox.
Maybe send him a pm if you've got one of those.
I think he's pretty keen.

Quite a few people have been asking about in-line Bultaco Betor forks and I have finally had a look in the fork buckets tonight.
There is only one pair of in-line 35mm Bultaco Betors and they are the type that use a taper fit into the top triple which to me means Pursang M11, Mk2, Mk3, Mk4 or Mk5. There is a brake torque arm lug only on the brake side slider and both sliders have a single axle clamp bolt.
I don't have any Pursang triples to suit the taper top forks.
One slider has taken a minor hit where the seal sits. The other fork leg is fine. The side with the damage has been disassembled so if someone wants them I'm willing to pull the complete leg apart and make sure there is two complete sets of correct internals. The damaged section could probably be used after being panel beaten back round, but to look perfect again would require welding and machining.
Both tubes have minor pitting where the seals run, and no knurled section. I do have other tubes with the taper top, but they all have a knurled section to suit the lower clamp on some other model so would probably look out of place on an early Pursang.
Regards
David

I was looking for some parts tonight and noticed there was a box that was hidden and it is full of triples so there may be triples to go with the Pursang forks.
I'll have a look probably on the weekend

There is a top triple clamp for early Pursang ie the ones with tapered top 35mm forks. I couldn't see a matching bottom triple clamp.
