I was offered the bike last week and it is the one from VMX mag. I hate the black rims and the FMF muffler with the ribs, but the rest is magnificent. I hope he gets what he's asking, and going on what the WR430 made a couple of weeks back it shouldn't be a problem.
Cheers,
K

Yep I am the guy that built the bike from a complete basket case. It was in VMX Mag and also Aussie Motorcycle Trader.  It has an 18 inch rear wheel to replace the original 17 incher. The tank is totally NOS and never had fuel in it. The thing with the FMF muffler was that it bolted straight on with about an inch cut off it. The footpegs are from Husky Junk in the US. They stopped making them about 4 or 5 years ago. It has NOS fork legs, Ohlins rebuilt by Frank pons, wheels were by Chris Squires, new Wossner piston kit, new Mikuni etc etc... I did ride it a couple of times on a property and it was magnificent, probably the best Evo bike i have ridden.  I built the thing as a race bike and it had a black and red race tank on it, it was never intended to be a show bike.  If I had the moolah I would definitely buy it back

I know - it was a difficult decision. We had just had a baby and had dropped back to one wage... so I had to make the hard call and part with it.  Now I regret it after seeing the pictures again. :(

Stevo17....Look at it this way, you may end up like most of us on this forum one day-kids left home and spending every penny and minute hooked on VMX stuff.  :P
buy it back then from some defunct museum or deceased estate  ;)    ;D
enjoy the baby  :)
cheers

Sold for $7.6k....if we can believe it  ;D ;D 13 bidders were involved.  While its probably about what it cost to restore - its top dollar for sure for a 430 Husky.  I hope the new owner gets a lot of pleasure from it.
