Another montesa scam from down under!

This is the third scam (I think) from Australia in the past 6 months!
Any one have any info if this is a real place?

Jared there is a Howe Street in Osborne Park in Western Australia but it is not a long enough street to have a street number of more than 100 or so
I'll do a phone number search

The mo on these guys is to want the cost on items only listed on my webpage.
Then they want the total costs with mailing fee's.  They also say they need the parts asap, and
instead of mailing, they will have their "agent" pick the parts  up.  Then he say's he owes his "agent"
money and wants me charge his credit card for the amount he owes them (usually from $400 to $800)
and for me to mail him cash (yeah right..) and then the "agent" will arrange to pick the parts up.
Just amazing......

Cappra, this setup rang a bell with me, so I went back through the search system and found your previous dealings with a mystery crowd in Victoria were along the same lines...same credit card deal, and an address in a bunch of factories. I wouldn't blame you for being a bit gun-shy, but when the scam is as transparently ill-conceived as these, why would you bother pursuing them ? A short note suggesting the perpetrator's folly and lunacy would be passed on to the relevant credit card companies would be the most obvious response.
Hopefully, these experiences won't paint Australians too adversely in your psyche...once would be annoying, but for it to happen again, that's too tough ! Give them a serve, mate !

Spoke to other place that tryed to scam you to start with as it turns out to be one of my mates work, he said the Fedral Police have taken all the packages and they have tracked it down to somewhere in mexico. These guys had about 15,000 dollars worth of stuff in there warehouse that had been sent to them with all diffrent names on the boxes!!! So it is a big operation. Even a pallet of LCD screens so some people fall for it!!! Even put a filter on the phone so Over Seas callers get to just leave a message, due to volume of calls to see if it is real.

I even get people calling me at work wanting me to send 10 x 4.5kg Fire Ext. to a church in Fuji and they will pay via credit card you send it then a couple off days later the payment bounces back and the products are overseas in a country that couldn't care less then they on sell. They tell you there in Australia but when you quiz them they clearly no nothing about suburbs/location ect. Then they just hang up.

Must be a big problem. It is not Australia they just want a location that is hard for you to check, like for Australian people the scam would be somewhere in Spain or the US so it is hard for us to check.

'Spring warmers'. They're like tyre warmers but for your springs (brilliant I know). Whilst everyones bikes wallowed around in the slick today, mine tracked true. Why you ask? Because their springs were freezing! brrrrrrr! Also usefull when people come around at national meetings trying to sus out your supension *for this application we also recommend attaching a very hungry rottweiller to the back of your bike
Colour is a tastefull black (a very slimming colour) and pay little attention to people mingling around your steed calling it "gay". You can ask them to help carry your trophies to the car for you at the end of the day.......

Just about ready to put this scam to bed!  As soon as I get his credit card numbers, I will report the numbers and e-mail info to the authorities.
99.9 % of my customers are fantastic and you guys (Aussies and Kiwi's) are the least problems of all! (except for maybe Ross    I just wish
mailing costs were not so damn high!   As a public service, here is the last e-mail I received, which pretty much lays out the whole scam.


Thanks for the total quote of my order.The total cost of my order is
quite correct and okay by me and I'm ready to pay the bills . Also
want you to help  me Charge another $600 US to a shipping agent who is
going to pick up my ordered items from you.

    The $600 US that will be sent to the shipping agents for the
shipping of my order plus other items i ordered from different
countries which will be deduct from my credit card.Also, I'm
compensating you with the sum of $200US for the transfer fee and for
your efforts. Please note that i should have given the shipping agency
my credit card for him to deduct the shipping funds but he told me
that he doesn't have the facilities to charge or debit creditcard , so
that's why i bring my vote of confidence in you and i don't want you
to betray the vote of confidence i put in you, so i want you to
transfer the funds to him after you have make the charges and the
money charged from my credit card is in your account,then you can now
make the transfer to the agent via western union.i will have love to
do this my self but there no western union here around me,So the
charges you'll make on my credit card will be:

Order Fee: $ 2370
Agent fee with shipping fare:  $600
Transfer Fee plus Your Compensation: $ 200
Total: $ 3170

 Note that my credit card will be charged for the amounts above

My son had a similar Scam when he had his TL1000 for sale, but they actually sent him a forged Commonwelth Bank bank cheque, but it was for more than the purchase price and asked for the difference to be sent via Western Union. He banks with Bendigo Bank and they told him that they recieved 2 other cheques the same day. At least he followed my advice and was waiting for it to clear first.
