To all South Aussies who remember when much better than I.....I have just been sent some old photos (actually images taken from slides) from a meeting at Snake Gully in 1976.  It may have been the SA Motocross Championships.  Can any-one identify the riders in the foloowing photo; if they are around, I can send them copies of the photo or they can download from the site.

Sorry pirie I'm not a Sth Aussie but it looks like any typical early 70's shot with a Husky up the front.

Is it the 250's leading  or the 250's being lapped .

No, no, no I think you guys are all going senile. You can clearly see that used to be a flat section until that Husky guy had ridden over it a few times and roostered a massive rut that created that down hill. Now the others are now having to ride down it to keep up! Lucky the race finished early because they would have had to bring out the D9 to fix that damn huge rut the husky's were making that day.

I don't think Mike Groom (or Steve for that matter) was riding then (1976), and he rode a 400 Husky when he won the National Championship in 1970.

#22 Lutze or Don Bowey.

#1 is certainly Rowley on the CCM.

I can see #55 in there.  Any ideas ?

I think the race was an All-Powers race, and if the photo was taken at the SA Championship, it was probably a Heat, not the Final.  I also have a shot of a "C" Grade race at the same event and will post that.
