Ok. So who's up for a squirt at Yanakie? Apparently the weather's going to be on our side. We're going more out of interest to what the place is like when it's not pizzing down rain more than anything. Not true. I love the VCM meetings as much as the Viper ones as it's pretty laid-back and cool. Everyone that rides Viper should get themselves a Pre-78 or an earlier bike and support this great racing.

All very true Ross, although I didnt mind Yanakie wet either as the ground is quite hard underneath.
My pre 78 is in the making and looking good.

Bultaco 125 ready for battle, May give 73 maico 400 another go after scare at Barabool event.
Pre 78 bike nearly ready, 76 KX 250 just needs tyres, chain and sprockets.

Yer motomaniac like ride Maico , tell Mrs Maico I am long lost son but she say no remember.
Ask Maico Faktory but they say Motomaniac too old and slow .They say next rider must have German frauline and sprechen ze German.Also no more long hair hippie types they say already have rider like dis.
So motomaniac ride jap bike with pretzel frame and bad suspension.

How did the day turn out 

Sadly, Mr Maico #54, who was anticipating but another return, was not able to compete, but our thanks go to Uncle Norm, Tony & the crew from Cnr Inlet who supplied Mr Maico with some well received pain killiers, for their efforts over the weekend.

It was pretty grouse! Poor ol' Mr Maico would have loved it out there. It was nice to ride on there and not have to get out the way of the ducks for a change. A lot of people were having jetting issues (self included) so it made for some interesting racing. Once it started to dry out a bit it was traction city. That soil sure is loamy and you could just grab handfull's of throttle and go to town! Once again Arno Franz was my nemisis and I ran second to him all day in Pre-78. He is the silent acheiver that man. He just slips past you and he's gone. You could take the seat off his bike and he wouldn't notice 'cause he never sits down.
Henry Leatham was hard at it again giving those guys less than half his age a big shake. It's a pity he was let down by what-ever it was that CZ's do when they're not gunna start and he might have only walked away with a hand-full (instead of an arm-full) of trophys for a change.
Henry maybe going to the Nats he told me. Now I'd gladly go just to watch him. 
I'd go to Yanakie again. But only if the heavens are going to be kind. It's a real 'old style' motocross track and the club could really use the support.
And those rubber-band starts sure are fun. I just about cut my front plate in two........

Love the rubber band starts, if you jump the start there is the possibility you could get tangled up.
First time for me at Yanakie, loved the soil and track.
The Corner Inlet mcc ran a very good meeting.
Look forward to going back next year.
