Yamaha YZ125L, 1984 model.
« on: June 02, 2009, 10:09:49 pm »
Sold.

Excellent condition - ready to race. Has had about 3 hours since full rebuild.
I built it to be my 'serious' pre-85/ACTMCC bike so everything that's been done, has been done properly, but am finding more enjoyment racing the short-travel bikes.

Engine's bottom end has about 3 hours on a full rebuild.
Top end has about 30 minutes on a fresh rebore (just gone to first oversize).
Excellent exhaust pipe, never been dented,
Shock professionally rebuilt, new spring to suit ~90kg rider.
Frame, triples etc repainted.
Renthal alloy bars, new grips etc.
All new swing arm and linkage bearings.
New front wheel bearings.
Good chain and sprockets.
Needs new fork seals fitted (new seals supplied). Good chrome on forks.
As-new Michelin S12 front tyre and Pirelli rear (MT32?).
Modern-style wide footpegs.
Always run on top-spec Motul oils since rebuild.

Most of a 1985 YZ125N for parts.
Currently fitted with a 'normal' front wheel, but original drum brake Z-spoke wheel also included.

The most significant faults are:
Plastics are presentable, and race-ready, but not 'show room'.
Front brake cable damaged (works fine, looks ordinary).
Forks need seals.
Kick-starter doesn't self-retain - but can easily be tucked in behind the exhaust pipe.

Sold. $2000, not very negotiable (the longer it takes to sell, the less negotiable I am...).

Bike is in Yass, southern NSW.

The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.
