And big two strokes vibrate. You don't tend to notice it until you hold steady revs.

its the steady throttle setting part that is the real issue, they were never designed to run on constant throttle. On the rode I used to ride the WR and KTM wide open then hit the kill switch for a while. Old desert racers trick to avoid seizing was to hit the kill switch at full throttle.

what barrell did u have on the wr 500 ? i can,t get my head around all the lurching , surging ,      rego is more of use for trail riding , is required  for forestry / nat park use , i had my maico gme 500 reg.d  but i wouldn,t want to do a road trip on it , or even ride up to the newsagent for the sunday paper ,  yz,ing an it 490 , best way, rembering the 84 on is centerport , is cut the steering stem off the it and weld it on the yz , my wr in it,s early days was reg.d but used something else of the it,s ,   marc , for desert riding , would u have had fairly high gearing on that wr500 ?

my WR was center port with modified head and barrel, rest was stock. What i describing is how you either have to ride below or in the powerband and once you are in the powerband the bike just starts to accelerate so running constant throttle setting and speed on the road is a drama. 4 stroke does this job much better.
