Ok SA riders here is a Vinduro event close to you
« on: April 24, 2009, 12:55:07 am »
G,day all, since we have a Vinduro coming up at Harrow which is close to SA border I am hoping we get a big turn out from SA riders, so come on all if you dont have a pre 85 bike then check those papers or get on the auction sites and get a old girl for the Vinduro, I know you will have a blast, the bike does not have to be flash the more riders the better.

We will be heading over I think it is about a 5 hour drive for us so we will get there the day before to help with track set up if needed, we will camp at the track and I hope we are allowed to have a fire as it's getting bloody cold at night.

By the way get a bike for your wife, daughter, girlfriend as we look like having more than just Sue riding at Harrow Vinduro, come on girl's dont just sit on the side line watching, get out there and join in the fun, remember Vinduro's are not a race, just ride at your own pace.

All the vinduro dates are here on ozVMX and at www.endurobiketalk.com

Cheers Mick.

I'm working on it right now, Mick.  ;D
At this stage, that weekend is free for me but I don't have a bike ready.
Working on that too.  ;)
I guess it's about 5 hours over there for me as well, but I've got family in Mt. Gambier so that might help with an excuse to come over.
I'll work on  few of the TT500 boys too.
Anyone else?

if Rudd delivers my $900, and i can find all the parts i still need for my TS then it might be a posibilty for me, but in reality im doubtful of attending. Shipping stuff from the USA is heart breaking at the moment, so i can only progress slowly as i can afford it. Priority for me is to build it as i want with the parts i want as i can afford it and not slap something together in a rush for one event.

Thats a shame you will not make it with a bike Leith, maybe someone has a spare they could lend to you, I hope to get the IT 175 G out but I am having trouble finding chain guides and other bits I need so not sure if I will have it going in time either, so the trusty little DT 175 will be out again.

Cheers Mick.

it would be good if it was later in the year instead of 2 months away, but i will see how it goes. Its pretty far away too, if it was only about 2 hrs away i would consider going just for a look.

do you need a MA licence for Vinduros?

thats ok. its a bit more than just lending stuff. Though.

if i was desperate to go there is more chances of chucking a PE together, but i dont have any 250 pipes :( and i would also have to custom make a wiring loom as its missing that aswell and depends on if i can get my Ohlins finished and set up by then.

alot can happen in 2 months so i will play it by ear.

I'm keen, but will have to see if I can get a weekend pass from the wife.

At the current rate of progress I might just have the clutch back in the XR by then.

Charlie.
