Fear vand Loathing in Wakes Coine ;D. You've out Gonzo'd the great doctor Roger, your enthusiasm for the moment bounces  off the page. I felt the same buzz as I drove my old Volvo PV544 into that dusty shithole of a Carlsbad car park for my first 500cc USGP in 1976. I can even tell you what colour thongs I wore, what radio station I had playing on the car radio (KMET), and what beer I drank (ICoors), every detail of that great day being so indelibly implanted in my memory.

Geez Rog. That stuff (and how you put it together) is grouse and yes it does remind me of a Murrey Watt rant ;D. I'd buy a book of it..... ;)

Keep it coming Rog. Reminds of a similiar experience in about 78 or 79 when I went down to Hampshire and saw the Hants Grand National at Ringwood. (weirdly I was living in Ringwood in Victoria at the time!) It was a pre season international and among others there I can remember Noyce and Lackey on Honda's, Wolsink on Suzuki and Rond on a Yamaha. I think also Neil Hudson on a Maico. I have some photo's somewhere. I will go look for them now! Cheers Jerry

More interesting stuff Doggy, very good reading. I've been to Wakes Colne (but only as a spectator).
Perhaps VMX could use some of your diaries?

Yes, good stuff Rog
I wish I had taken more notes on my trip OS.
While I remember a lot of the major stuff, it's the little things and timelines that get lost over the years.
