I think it was Dorna's dream to crush WSB but alas the best laid plans and all that. As word is the the Aprilia Superbike just fits into the letter of the law as does the BMW for production bikes (they were suposed to have built 250 and sold a 1000 before racing). Dorna's downward spiral started the day they kicked out WSM for their prototype not being prototype enough. Sending the message that you had to be one of the big boys to play.

Oh well with Aprilia and BMW on the grid in Superbikes, it gives you what, 7 or 8 manufacturers and steady migration of good riders.

Now if I was WSB I would be lobbying hard for the manufacturers to give me a bit more of the pie, use the cash to attract a couple of good riiders from GP, you only need real money for Stoner and Vale, the rest will ride for food stamps at the moment.

This is a golden opportunity to turn the tables on Dorna, reduce team costs all in one foul swoop.

Then then WSB can adjust their cost base, lower TV rights and blow Dorna out of their executive jet lifestyle. The TV networks will be buying the same product at a cheaper price from WSB....everyone is laughing.
