fox air shocks chain guide

has any one made a chain guide for rm 400t to protect the inside of a fox air shock want to know were the fixing point is a photo would be great

I made this one out of a nylon chopping board, it's been on for five years now.
I have fitted a longer bolt on the lower shock mount and the guide sits flush on top of the swing arm and is mounted with two nyloc nuts on the shock mount bolt.

havent done it yet but will be doing so. The guides i have seen are of an alluminimum sort, but i reckon viper79's nylon is better. Im interested to see how you got your air shocks fitted nicely on the RM. did you have air box issues. what length top mounts have you got?

this is the sort i have seen. basically you attach it to the lower shock mount.

I might need to add the chopping board effect to my Honda XL I'm modifying, good suggestion.
On another point, I noticed the upward angle of your gear change lever, I think I know why this position. I've just started wearing a new pair of boots and find it very difficult to get the toe under the lever to change up using the standard old fixed type lever on my Suzuki RM250B. I thought of moving it up one spline but then thought changing down then may become a problem. How does everyone find wearig modern boots with the big solid toe effect their gear changing?? I also thought a longer lever may help.

You hit the nail on the head pmc57, I have a pair of size 11 Tech 8 boots and being six ft tall there's not a lot of room and I found my boot was knocking the bike into a false neutral while riding so I had to make that lever up out of two different levers, I think it's a Honda lever which was longer and I had to weld the Suzuki splined section to it.
I have just bought some Tech 10's which are a lot thinner in the toe area than the Tech 8's so I will see how they go.
And as for changing down it's a case of taking your foot of the peg and shifting down.

Sidi crossfire are the skinniest/thinnest boot on the market in WA for us,we know how you feel- six foot and boot size plus to match.

Hey Marc,
The Scotts and MRobert were actually pretty narrow in the toe box and fitted under the shifter just fine. It was those stupid plastic Vendraminis that were like wearing a sledge hammer on your feet. Man they were crap.
